Do I need a consultation for surgery?

It is important for us to meet with you in person to discuss your goals and review your options for surgery. This allows us to come up with an individualized plan unique to your surgical needs.

What is involved in a cosmetic surgery consultation?

When you come in for a plastic surgery consultation you’ll be meeting with Dr. David Huang, who is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. We will discuss which procedures are best suited for you to assist with achieving your goals. We will review your medical history and discuss a surgical plan, as well as perform a physical examination of the areas that are of concern. Finally, you’ll meet with our nurse to discuss financial responsibility and review a scheduling timeline for surgery.

Why should I choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon vs. a Cosmetic Surgeon?

When starting the search for a physician to perform elective procedures, the choice of the proper surgeon should be the highest priority. We recommend choosing a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. Anyone can wear a white coat and call themselves a cosmetic surgeon, but not everyone has the training and expertise to give you the safest possible experience.

What hospital are the procedures performed at?

Dr. Huang performs surgeries and has privileges at Lake Regional Hospital, Capital Regional Medical Center, and Boone Hospital. Not all surgeries are performed at the hospital, some may be done in the office under local anesthesia. Please note, if you have an outstanding balance at any of these facilities, they will not allow us to schedule your elective surgery.

Once scheduled, how do I know what time to arrive at the hospital for surgery?

For Lake Regional Hospital they will call you the day before to go over information and give you an arrival time. For Boone Hospital and Capital Region Medical Center we will tell you what time to arrive.

Do I need pre-op testing?

After scheduling, your nurse will advise if you need testing or surgical clearance as this is a case by case.

What if I need to cancel my appointment or surgery?

If you are unable to keep a scheduled appointment, we require a 24 hour prior notice of cancellation. If you do not give 24 hours notice you will be charged a $50 consultation fee. Emergency situations will be handled on an individual basis.
10% deposit is due at the time of booking a cosmetic surgery. The surgeon and facility fees are due in full 10 days prior to surgery. Cancellation within 10 days of surgery results in the loss of your 10% deposit. If notice of more than 10 days is given, you will receive a full refund minus the consultation fee. Emergency situations will be handled on an individual basis.
